noted that the intervention is the manual collection of waste located on the beach near the mouth of the river Serchio; in particular, it will collect plastic, metal and bulky materials of various kinds, while the wooden material will be left in place in order to encourage the formation of sand dunes.
This intervention will provide the necessary cleaning without having to resort to mechanical means within the dune system. The cleaning process will be assisted by Geofor SpA., Well established partner. The area will then be bounded by poles equipped with tables, which put up the image of the refectory and the Trade Union Ordinance.
La Giornata di pulizia di Bocca di Serchio, come ben sapete, è un'iniziativa nata per tutelare un ambiente di straordinaria bellezza e soprattutto per richiamare sul luogo il fratino, uccello nidificante ormai raro . Si tratta di una importantissima operazione che vede una stretta e proficua
collaborazione tra il Comune di Vecchiano e l'Ente-Parco, l'Azienda Geofor e le Associazioni con i loro volontari. Le giornate di pulizia degli anni precedenti hanno visto ad oggi la partecipazione di circa 800 persone.
I risultati raggiunti gli anni scorsi sono stati i seguenti:
- collection of 500 tons of various types of waste: plastic, glass, cans, bulky materials, a figure much higher.
- thus improving the appearance of the area: at the end of the day, in fact, the look of the area seemed much more "natural", thanks to the volunteers;
- discovery, during the breeding season, first of nests with eggs and later by the small refectory of ornithological experts
Grande proposal without a doubt goes to all the associations and their volunteers who have participated, in perfect harmony, carried on all days.
